This unique artwork is created using layers of hand dyed merino wool fibre and details of silk fibre.  It is then captured and reproduced using the highest quality printing techniques and materials.

The process used to create the artwork is not unlike that used to paint a conventional picture.  Layers of colour are applied and then details carefully added.  The difference being that my "paints" are wool and silk fibres and my hands are the brushes.   At first glance, this print looks like a watercolour.  Then, as you are drawn to look closer, the depth and shimmering colour become clearer and you find yourself soaking in every detail.

"Goodnight Aotearoa" is an intimate moment with creation.  As the setting sun sets the hills and sky on fire, it feels as if it's a show put on just for me.  I drink it in, marvelling at the intense, shimmering colours.  And I say Goodnight, knowing that this intimate moment has left it's mark on me.

Prints are produced to order, so please allow 5-10 working days for delivery.  If you require something sooner, please contact me to find out what I have in stock.

The capture of this type of fibre art is unique to Caroline Burton Fibre Artist.
