To honour the story of my friend Hineata’s ancestors. Hineata describes her connection to her place, Rawahi ki Manoeka, thus:
”The inter-generational suffering in pain loss and death of my ancestors on the land and her surrounding areas is my primary connection. Her beauty and life my sustaining connection. The hope and fulfilment of prophecies from the dawn of Creation my eternal connection.”
“Rawahi ki Manoeka” translates as “The other side of 1000 acres”
